Call of Duty World War II

I will fully admit, Call of Duty has not been a series I have had the same interest in as Halo. However, much of my opinion changed playing Modern Warfare 3! I loved the firefight mode and the exotic weapons! A compelling narrative between the Americans and Russians in the fight for global world domination!

Call of Duty World War II takes the series back in time to World War II, and exterminating Nazi's is the name of the game. Each squadmate has unique abilities which you can use in combat. Weapons have recoil as per the series standard, with a steep learning curve. The customization system is complex and nuanced enough to keep both new players and veterans coming back for more. The one real problem with this game is that its the same COD formula. Zombie mode returns, along with firefight and team deathmatch. No new modes! Even worse, the game requires a 9.49GB patch downloaded before you can play the campaign!

There is enough variety to keep gamers invested, but the formula that the COD series relies upon is growing old, and Activision cannot remain dependent on recycling the same game mechanics over and over and expect a loyal fanbase. Insanity is repeating the same actions over and over and awaiting different results! Call of Duty World War II has style and polish, but little substance behind the experience.

Final Verdict:
Graphics: 10/10
Gameplay: 7/10
Sound: 8/10
Replayability: 6/10
Overall: 6/10 (Slightly Above Average)
